This quote is from The Princess Bride, a popular movie in which a father asks his son to deliver a message to his daughter. While the father is away, the son meets with his friend Fred who tells him that he has no idea what the message is. The son goes to the execution grounds to find out what the message is and finds out that the father has asked for their help. However, they are too late to save the victim of an execution.

While forgiving themselves for not getting there in time, the two friends then decide to carry on executing traitors at dinner time. Eventually, they get caught and are put on trial where they ask for their fathers help to prove their innocence. As it turns out, all along they were out to get revenge on someone else.

Not only did they get away with their plan, but they also saved the life of the real traitor.
